(NET) Neuro Emotional Technique In Roebuck SC

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a gentle, non-invasive mind-body approach that helps identify unresolved stress patterns that may be influencing your physical health, emotional well-being, and everyday life. By addressing the connection between your nervous system and emotional experiences, NET supports your body's natural ability to restore balance.

What Is Neuro Emotional Technique?

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a stress-focused, mind-body approach developed by Dr. Scott Walker, with Dr. Deb Walker serving as co-developer. Originally created in the 1980s, NET combines principles from chiropractic care, physiology, traditional Chinese medicine, and behavioral science to help identify unresolved emotional stress that may continue affecting the body.

Today, more than 8,000 healthcare professionals in over 30 countries have received NET training and incorporate it into patient care.

Understanding Unresolved Stress

Life is full of stressful experiences. Most are processed naturally, allowing both the mind and body to recover.

Sometimes, however, the body continues to react to an experience long after the event has passed. In NET, these lingering stress responses are referred to as Neuro Emotional Complexes (NECs)—patterns where unresolved emotional stress continues to create a physiological response.

These patterns may contribute to:

  • Ongoing stress
  • Emotional overwhelm
  • Recurring physical tension
  • Difficulty moving past certain experiences
  • Feeling "stuck" despite personal growth

NET works to identify these unresolved patterns so the body can complete its natural stress response. Check out the latest research on the NET HERE

The Mind-Body Connection

Our bodies don't only respond to what actually happens—they also respond to what we perceive.

For example, if you've ever had a vivid nightmare, you may have awakened with a racing heart or sweaty palms, even though the danger wasn't real. Similarly, simply imagining biting into a fresh lemon often causes your mouth to water.

These examples demonstrate how thoughts and memories can create real physiological responses. NET uses this mind-body relationship to help identify stress patterns that may still be active within the nervous system.

First Aid Stress Tool (FAST)

FAST can be used to help relieve symptoms associated with mind/body stress. The stressful events we face today are often subconsciously reminding us of old stressful events that have happened in our past, and this can cause a recurring stress pattern. This kind of stress pattern is called a conditioned response, and it often happens without any awareness on our part.

FAST comes from a more comprehensive technique called call NET. Both FAST and NET are focused on eliminating specific conditioned response patterns so people don't have to keep experiencing a continual reaction to unresolved past events. In some cases NET, which is only used by licensed healthcare practitioners, is needed to help find and resolve the deeper issue associated with a past stress pattern.

FAST can be used to help relieve symptoms associated with many different kinds of stress and often offers immediate relief. Important: FAST is not intended as a replacement for consultation, diagnosis or treatment, and it is always recommended you consult with your healthcare professional.*

The Pulse Points used with FAST:

One of the dynamics used with FAST comes from Acupuncture, where specific pulses are associated with different Elements.

The Elements have been named Fire, Wood, Water, Metal and Earth, and each Element is associated with various emotional / stress responses. Examples:

  • Fire can be associated with feeling abandoned or vulnerable
  • Wood can be associated with feeling angry or frustrated
  • Water can be associated with feeling scared or afraid
  • Metal can be associated with feeling sad or unhappy
  • Earth can be associated with feeling worried or hopeless

How to use the FAST Procedure:

  • Step A: Identify an issue that is bothering you. Place one of your wrists (palm up) into your other hand. Using 3 fingers of your bottom hand, gently contact the 3 pulses that are located on the 'thumb' side of the palm-up wrist. (see figure 1)
  • Step B (part 1): Place the open hand on your forehead to cover the 2 points related to stress (located halfway between the pupils and hairline). (see figure 2)
Then gently breathe in & out a few times while concentrating on the 'feeling' associated with the issue that is bothering you.
  • Step B (part 2): Switch hands and repeat the above step with the 3 pulses on your other wrist.
  • Step C: Use FAST as frequently and as long as needed. Taking sprays of NET Remedies #9 and #24 (only available through licensed healthcare practitioners) also helps support the release of associated stress.
