When the spine is out of alignment, also called a subluxation, it causes an interference with the body’s innate ability to heal. This Innate Intelligence in the body controls all natural processes, such as heartbeat, breathing, digestion, chemical and hormonal balances to occur without having to think about it. When we are “subluxated” it causes a diminished state of being. When we are subluxation free, we can express this innate intelligence to heal, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.

The chiropractic adjustment is what chiropractors use in order to remove misalignments in the spine and extremities and cranium to promote self-healing and optimal performance. This is usually done my hand, but can also be done with instrumentation such as an activator tool or an arthrostim.

Chiropractic is very safe and there is little risk to being adjusted. Serious complications from an adjustment can happen, but in very rare circumstances.

Adjustments shouldn’t be painful. In the few instances it is painful it should be immediately fallowed by relief.

The initial Exam is 30-45 minutes long, which includes muscle strength testing, a spinal ner examination, an organ evaluation and an adjustment which is a Full-Spine plus extremities adjustment. Each appointment after is only 15 minutes long and the adjustment is the same.

As Chiropractors, we go to school for 3.5 years at a chiropractic specific college. We receive the same education as a medical doctor, but we have an extensive education in anatomy and physiology, biomechanics of the spine, spinal nerve innervation and neurology as well as nervous system management and adjusting. We also take seminars that are outside of the college system that focus on various areas of expertise in chiropractic.

Absolutely, I’ve seen many pregnant moms through their pregnancy’s. As moms body starts to change and grow, they can become physically uncomfortable in many ways and lose mobility and even be in pain from pressure being put on spinal nerves. An example of this would be sciatica and low back pain. The Chiropractic adjustment can be relieving and resolve these problems with consistent chiropractic care during and after pregnancy.

No, Chiropractic care is not addictive.

The crack sound is just gas releasing from between the joint space. The “crack” itself means nothing and it doesn’t make for a adjustment.

I wouldn’t recommend it. We aren’t designed to adjust ourselves properly. It could make things worse health wise.

Some insurance companies will cover chiropractic plans, but we DO NOT take insurance in our office. We are a cash only practice.

A Step by step, very methodical and thorough evaluation is done using (AK) applied kinesiology and muscle testing to see where the spine is out of alignment or if other areas of the spine need to be realigned, including extremities. Then the adjustment is delivered where it needs to be. A post adjustment check is done to see the improvements. Also, if anything else needs to be addressed.

Chiropractic is very safe for children. For infants and toddlers, the adjustment only requires a very light, sustained contact on the area that’s misaligned. Children do very well under chiropractic care. They tend to get sick far less then children that aren’t under chiropractic care and perform and recover much faster competing in sports.

Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a binary system that tests a muscle for weak or strength responses. These yes or no questions are correlated to asking someone’s body a series of yes or no questions. Typically, a strong response means yes and a weak response in a No. Of course, this can vary depending on the questions being asked of the different bodily systems and functions.  In regards to the adjustment we are asking what needs to be adjust and what doesn’t need to be adjusted. In the other systems of the body, we are looking for a dysfunction or a dis-ease. These can be physical, chemical or emotional in nature. Essentially, we are engaging with a person’s nervous system when asking these questions to get the root cause of the problem.
